Origins of Mad Cow Disease
It all began in 1986, when several cows on British farm started acting strangely. The farm was tested for toxins, the cows were given antibiotics, but their health continued to decline. The cows were owned by Peter Stent of West Sussex, England. The first one presented its symptoms in 1984, but it was 2 years before the disease was identified.
